    Hello,

I had a question about the Human Biology course requirement. My BS degree in Family Studies and Human Development required us to take 2 nutrition courses, would these fulfill the Human Bio requirement or would I have to take another course.

    Thanks,
    Nicole

      Nicole,

Unfortunately, the course has to be either a Human Biology or Anatomy & Physiology. However, you can be accepted and you can take the class during your first term at UNE.

I finished my BS in psychology in June with a gpa of 3.03. Is that sufficient for the gpa or would have each class had to have a b/3.0 for a grade? I had 2 classes that I had a C+ and the rest were b’s. Thanks!

Part of the admission requirement for the Traditional Track in the Master of Social Work Program is having taken a course in human biology. Do courses in human anatomy, physiology and/or microbiology satisfy this requirement?

    Thank you.

I am inquiring about the MSW Online program. Firstly do you accept international students from Canada?

If so – how many students are accepted yearly and how many apply? And what are the GPA’s of those accepted. I currently have a 5.7 but most universities here only accept those above 7.0

I have an undergrad in Design and almost completed a BA in Psychology but if not needed to complete it I’d like to apply now.

Also is it required at any point to go on campus for the online program and is there a deadline for the online MSW Program – meaning how long does it take to complete?

    Thank you very much!

      Jacquie,

You will be able to apply as an international student. We have many students that apply each term and acceptance is based on your qualifications and full application.

You would need a GPA of at least a 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale. This means that you would have to get your degree evaluated to determine your GPA.

As long as you have a conferred bachelors degree with a GPA of 3.0, you can apply now. You will not need to attend the campus as all of the courses are completed online and practicum in your local area. The traditional track will take you about 4 years to complete.

I currently have a BA in Psychology with a graduate GPA of 3.16. However, I am currently enrolled on-campus and my GPA has fallen. I have a much easier time at online learning as I have many other obligations and responsibilities, so my GPA has suffered due to attempting on-campus learning. Do you still consider the GPA that is on my Bachelors Degree transcript?

I have completed my requirements for a BSW from and accredited instuition however other than my field placement of 400 hours I have no evidence of significant experience in the human services field with MSW supervision. Does my field placement count. I wish to start in the fall 2012. Also how long will it take me to complete on a full-time or part-time basis. I attended an accelerated program and took a different class every 5 weeks. How does your program run, is it traditional or what?

Hi. I’m looking into your online MSW program. I completed my bachelor’s in psychology in 2000 with an overall GPA of 3.04 and a 2.7 for my last 62 credit hours. I am currently a substance abuse counselor with Missouri state substance abuse accreditation. I have been working here for the past 10 years. Would I be eligible for your program?
    thank you.

I will be graduating in Spring 2013 with a BSW. Thus far, my GPA is a 4.0 and I am interested in the advance standing track. I do have a question though, I noticed that Human Biology is a requirement. I have taken Biology 111 and Biology 112 will this suffice even though it does not have the word Human in the title?

Also, how soon should I apply for your program if I am graduating in May 2013?

    Thank you

        Hello Shajai,

Thank you for your interest in UNE’s online MSW program. One of the admissions requirements for the program is that applicants have a 3.0 in the last 60 credits of their undergraduate degree. Do you know what your GPA was?

If your GPA is lower than a 3.0, it is suggested to take graduate level courses before applying to our program. We do not offer non-matriculated courses, so you should seek out a local school or online program that offers graduate level courses in a related area of study and make sure to maintain a B average.

Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Please contact an Enrollment advisor at 877-863-6791.

what if I am already signed up to take a course (Research 1) as a non-matriculated student in the fall which would be a 3 credit course (same as UNE)? I am interested in the online program, but want to take more than one class at a time while I have more time. Would the credits I take as a non-matriculated student at another institution transfer in? My biggest concern with the program is only being able to take one course at a time.

      Miki,

The online MSW program is designed as more of a part time basis. The program is quite rigorous and most of our students like that they can take just one class at a time to focus on other responsibilities.

We do accept transfer courses from other CSWE accredited programs. Please contact your Enrollment Advisor for more details.

    Hello,
I graduated in August of 2011 with my bachelors in SW. My cumulative GPA is under a 3.0, but I noticed that it says 3.0 in your last 60 undergraduate credit hours (which I have) is this correct? I had a hard time my first few semesters in college and took some time off and did MUCH better after coming back. Just wondering if this was a possibility for me.
    Thank you!

      Hi Angela,
Thank you for your message and your questions. Regarding the Advanced Track for the Online MSW Program, would it be possible for you to send a copy of your transcript for us to view? Your eligibility will depend on whether you meet the minimum requirements based on your grades from your BSW core courses.

I have a degree in Rehabilitation Studies. I work as a habitation technician. I am interested in getting my Master’s in Social Work. I am not sure what all classes I need to take. I have taken Anatomy/Physiology, Biology, ethics class, intro to psychology and sociology, abnormal psychology, developmental psychology, and statistics. What other classes will I need to take in order to prepare myself to apply to the program? Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you!

      Tiye,

In order to apply to the program, the only class that is required is either human biology or anatomy and physiology. Since you have already taken physiology, you have already met this requirement and will be able to apply to our traditional track option.
