Social Work Administrator
Social Work Administrators work in a variety of settings as policy makers, supervisors, administrators, and leaders. As a Social Work Administrator you are usually required to hold an advanced degree in social work, typically a master’s in social work or doctorate.
Employed by a range of facilities including hospitals, substance abuse treatment centers, individual and family services agencies, and local governments, Social Work Administrators develop and implement programs to address child abuse, homelessness, substance abuse, poverty, and violence. In addition, they may help raise funds or write grants to support these programs. Through research and analysis of existing policies, programs, and regulations, these workers help identify social problems and suggest solutions.
The University of New England’s Master of Social Work online option specifically addresses the needs of Social Work Administrators with courses that cover the various administrative and supervisory capacities of social workers. In addition students in the program will examine the human services industry, management, human resources issues, leadership development, and task group leadership.
